In Year 4, we endeavour to prepare children for life in a world where technology is constantly advancing. This includes providing learning that is not only engaging but demands that the children ‘think deeper’ and are given real life contexts in order for them to flourish as people, learners and in order for them to develop their knowledge and skills. We offer ample opportunities for challenge based learning and aim for children to develop good communication skills, resilience and the ability to persevere. In lower Key Stage 2 we believe that it is important that the children are included in the development of our classroom and that it is seen as a creative, exciting and collaborative environment.
This term, we hope to engage children in a project that includes the study of one of the greatest civilisations of the past; Ancient Egypt. We will work as a team to overcome challenges, such as; tomb raids and problem solving. We will attempt to build our knowledge and skill set across a range of curriculum areas in order to answer the question;’ How fair was life with the Pharaohs?’
