In Year 6, we endeavour to prepare children for the challenges of the end of Key Stage 2 assessments whilst still maintaining a broad and creative curriculum. Our aim is to inspire confidence and breed independence within the children to enable them to approach the next step of their education with enthusiasm and a desire to continue learning. We promote a positive learning attitude through growth mindset and use a variety of teaching methods in order to engage all learners, as our belief is that every child deserves to reach their full potential.
This term, we hope to engage children in a topic relating to a significant turning point in history – World War Two. We will work as a team to overcome challenges and attempt to answer a big question – Is war a necessary evil? Children will be encouraged to develop their creative skills in Art and DT, as well as deepening their understanding of Britain and the wider world.
