Learning and Memory

At Wath CofE Primary School we don’t want children to remember their learning for only one lesson, we aim for our learners to remember for a long time. This is done through committing learning to long term memory from working or short term memory. There are two ways we try to do this. The first is by making meaningful connections within subject and between them. Secondly, we use retrieval practice structures which support the recall of knowledge taught in the last lesson, earlier that month or from previous years.
