Our vision is based around five words.
Christianity, challenge, positivity, aspiration and enjoyment.
Through our approach to the curriculum and its delivery, learning at Wath CofE Primary School is engaging. We create a positive environment where children believe success is achievable for everyone and all learners can aspire to excellence safe in the knowledge that if they don’t succeed first time they have strategies to help themselves. Children develop a positive outlook towards all learning challenges on their journey towards reaching their potential as learners and as people with a focus on exceptional effort being what we should all expect of ourselves. We are inclusive and believe that every child has talents and these must be celebrated in a range of ways that shines a light on those talents across the school curriculum.
Wath CofE Primary School is rooted in the community. We have strong links with All Saints Church and other Christian groups in the parish but also give the children a broader appreciation of their community and what it is like to be a respectful citizen of the world in 2019. We believe in working closely with children and families, we can nurture children to be kind, positive, motivated, polite and confident. Through our Christian ethos, we aim to work in a supportive and caring manner with children and their families. Our vision is reflected in our motto, ‘Aim higher, shine brighter’ which was generated by the children and is at the heart of everything we do.
We aim to provide education of quality and depth in a Christian environment, where the uniqueness of each child is celebrated and children are happy, caring and confident with enquiring minds.
We aim to develop intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical learning, within a safe, calm and purposeful atmosphere throughout the school. We have the highest expectations of the children’s behaviour both in school when they represent the school in other settings. Children are encouraged to have a growth mindset where they learn from their mistakes, challenges are welcomed and everyone can succeed.
Our pupils will be encouraged to participate in their community, to communicate and make choices through learning to learn and be inspired to make aspirational choices in their futures.
We talked with staff and pupils and developed our Star below which we feel encompasses our vision for Wath C of E Primary.
The School Motto
The children in school also devised are Motto which is ‘Aim higher, shine brighter.’ This is at the core of everything we do in school to help the children as learners and as people.
We at Wath C of E School endeavour to promote a welcoming, happy community based on trust and mutual respect, where all individuals feel that they are valued and belong. We seek to help children achieve their full potential, academically, spiritually and socially, by encouraging a love of learning, the development of self-esteem and confidence. As a Church school we aim to develop Christian values of love, hope, peace and joy.
