My name is Mrs Horner and I am one of the F2 teachers.
I have been a teacher for over 20 years and have worked at Wath C of E for 8 years.
I love being part of this school and I feel extremely lucky and proud to work with the fantastic staff and the wonderful children here.
I have two teenage children; my son is at secondary school and my daughter is preparing to go to University.
I enjoy reading, baking and going for walks at Clumber and Rother Valley Country Park. I also love visits to the seaside and walking along the beach.
Hi, my name is Mrs Kirkham and you will find me in foundation.
I also work in breakfast club where I love to start the day with a dance or two.
I have two hobbies that I enjoy doing, one is watching the Red Arrows and Typhoons and my second is watching F1 stockcars.
Can’t wait to find out lots about you!
Hello everyone, I’m Miss Barnard and I will be going into my second year working at Wath C of E. I will be in F2 in September and I am looking forward to the challenge!
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family & friends going for walks, weekends away and cinema trips. I also love to travel to different countries abroad and make memories.
Our topics in F2 this year are:
Who are you and where do you come from?
In this topic we will think about our names, what we look like and the families that we belong to. We will find out about the things that make us and our families special and unique. We will also learn about where we live.
Then we will explore some different people and animals and explore the parts of the world that they come from.
Our learning will take us to China to find out about pandas, to India to find out about tigers, Africa to learn about elephants and the Arctic to find out about polar bears.
We will also learn about the lives of the people and what it is like in the countries where they live. We will experience some of the cultures of those countries by trying food and learning dances and songs.
Who lives in the deep, dark woods?
In this topic we will find out what it is like in the woods and what lives there, including some of the animals such as owls, minibeasts and mammals. We will be able to meet some real owls during a visit from ‘Hawks of Steele’.
We will then ‘meet’ some story characters who live in the woods such as The Gruffalo, Stickman and Little Red Riding Hood. We will make our own Stickmen, Gruffalo Crumble and cakes for Little Red Riding Hood’s grandma.
Hopefully we will be able to make a visit to the woods to see some of the things we have learnt about.
Do you like to be beside the seaside?
In this topic we will begin by exploring our own experiences and memories of the seaside. We will think about what it is like at the seaside and what we might see and do.
We will find out about some of the creatures that live in and near the sea and experience seeing some of these during a visit to The Deep in Hull.
Through stories and play we will learn about pirates and find out about what they looked like and what they did. We might be able to find out about some real life pirates of the past.
We are really looking forward to learning lots of new things with you and also finding out about the things that you like and know about too!
